Continuous improvement, Change of models, Critical factorsAbstract
The constant change in the markets, as well as more demanding clients in terms of quality, product variations, and delivery times, has led organizations to generate radical and/or incremental technological innovations in their products or systems. of manufacturing, this through the improvement of its administrative processes and technologies that favor the efficiency and flexibility of the productive processes. In this sense, one of the most investigated problems by manufacturing companies is model changes, which, despite the implementation of world-class manufacturing methodologies, there is still an area of opportunity in continuous improvement to reduce lead times. of change, which benefits the productivity, efficiency, flexibility, and quality of the company, which is why in this article a series of critical indicators differentiated in administrative and technical factors evaluated in the maquiladora industry of Tijuana, Baja California, are studied through the application of a measurement instrument validated by experts and by the reliability coefficient of Cronbach's alpha of 0.974, to a sample of 337 individuals who are directly related to the processes of change, revealing the need to control variables in the technical area of the manufacturing systems and related to the design of the products, which when considered allows generating more efficient improvement actions.
